Good news… I finished the DVD’s this week and are now duplicating and packaging them ready to be sent.
I have made 2 DVD’s, one with pictures (DVD pictureshow and originals) and another one with Video content.
I know it took me a while but there was a lot of photo and video stuff available and I wanted to sort it out, put some music on it, make a menu and things like that… but I think it worked out just fine and would like to know what you think of it too.

I will start sending al this shortly, therefore if you want me so send it anywhere else than the address that I have from the paper copy than let me know ! And Thomas, would you please let me know an address somewhere so I can send it to you as well ?

Anyway, I hope you are all doing great and I am sure you will enjoy the pictures and video… I am sending Chris/Angel and Samara the DVD’s in American format (NTSC) and all the others in European format (PAL).

Just a couple of days work and were off to Dublin and one week later we will be meeting up with Andy in London, we will have a drink on all of you guys and we might see you around sooner or later….

Hi There,

Just finished editing on the Video DVD, now I will render the footage in European and American format and add a little menu and then I will copy the whole lot… and it should be done…soon !
I have made a Picture DVD that can be played on a DVD player and also the original pictures will be separate on the disk for printing and all that…
The second DVD is all the camera material that I made, and I edited some stuff and put some music on it…

Just posted our pictures from the trip, I did not really have enough time to sort them all out but it is all there so you can have a look.

I have resized them to a bit smaller format but it should be good enough, I will send all the originals later on in case you want to print any. I got an envelope in the post that said “don’t touch me” …. so you can guess who’s pictures they are…. yes honey… I will put them on the DVD.

Anyway, you can find our pictures on the right of this page.

two weeks away feels like the whole world should have changed
but i’m home now, and things still look the same
i think i’ll leave it till tomorrow to unpack, try to forget for one more night
that i’m back in my flat
on the road where the cars never stop going through the night
to a life where i can’t watch the sun set, i don’t have time, i don’t have time
…. I still got sand in my shoes…..(dido)

I got Andy’s pictures today in the post…. Thanks ! There is some good stuff on this CD and I will make sure it gets on a DVD for those of you who joined the tour. Maybe (with Andy’s approval…) I will put some online too.

Anyway, I have started getting the video in the computer for editing. This will take some time because it is more than 3 hours and I want to cut some stuff out and make a little menu and stuff like that. It will take quite some hours to render too but I will not bore you with all the technical details

After a short night in Oakland (photo), we did some shopping there and we took a taxi to SF airport. Our flight left on the scheduled time and was quite comfortable with personal video etc. So we watched some films and played some games. Did not really sleep so it will be a long day…

We just managed to catch the direct train to deventer, at least the weather here seems quite nice….

nearly there, this train is fun to ride but sure takes its time. It is now nearly 1am and next stop in 1 hour is Oakland where we will stay. So far I have only seen these trains in movies but it has been fun and we had some good food as well. Time to wake up the hotel receptionist in a bit and catch some sleep. Oh yeah, the picture was taken in Union station in LA.

we are on the Pacific Coast Starlight train from LA to Oakland. This is quite a relaxed way of traveling !

We have got a private coach and the service is great. The end of our holiday is in site… that is really too bad because we had a great time here, our top 5

4. Las Vegas

5. Arizona Cowboy Camp

We moved today towards the New Otani hotel in downtown LA. It is a very good hotel with large rooms and good facilities (private taxi..). We are on the 18th floor so hopefully no quakes tonite or we will have a massive shake here…

We walked around LA today which is hard because there is quite some distance between things. Lots of areas with only latin people there, a lot of contrast between areas. In general, this is not really the place to go. LA is more known for all the stuff around than the downtown center itself. But since our train is leaving here in the morning it was a good idea to stay here tonight. We did miss the routine of the trek van and our trekkies… Now we are having a nice cool beer in the hotel room, probably go to bed a bit earlier than we are used to. Tomorrow a long trainride to San Francisco..

The TrekAmerica tour has ended…. Yesterday we went from San Diego towards Hollywood to visit Universal Studios. I hardly made any pictures because we kept up the pace to be able to do as much as possible throughout the day and we sure did a lot of rides and shows. There is some good stuff out there.

After Universal we went to LAX Airport to drop off Andy and shortly after we arrived back where it all started 2 weeks ago, the hacienda hotel in LA. After having a bite to eat we all said goodbye to eachother and it will feel a bit strange without the rest for the next few days…

This morning i woke up and went to the bathroom, it was shaking when i walked in…. earthquake !
Found out that the center of this quake was round Palm Springs and it was 5.6. Hopefully things will keep quiet as we are moving to downtown LA today for some shopping and to take it easy for a change…..

Although not extremely sunny, we are spending a few hours on the beach in San Diego. We arrived here yesterday after a 400 mile drive from the Cowboy Camp in Arizona. Everyone had a nice shower after having no facilities in Arizona and dodgy showers at the Grand Canyon. We went for some food at Dicks last resort in downtown San Diego, anerican style food with a kind of rude service… funny though.

Today we went to the Bilboa park in the morning and this afternoon we went to see some pro beach volleyball and now we are sitting on the beach for a bit. Some others went to Sea World instead.

Tonight we are going to see the San Diego padres against Chicago whitesox in the new stadium here.

Tomorrow will be the last day with the group at Universal Studios. It has gone really quick but we had a lot of fun. We will stil have a few days left on our own, it will be different….
